Mastering Hair Transplant Aftercare
Care After Hair Transplant Surgery: Healing with Confidence
A successful hair transplant isn’t just about the procedure, it’s about what happens after.
At Concord Hair Restoration, your care doesn’t stop when the surgery ends. We guide you through every stage of recovery so that your results grow in healthy, strong, and natural. Because when it comes to care after hair transplant surgery, the details matter.
Here’s what to expect, and how we help you heal smarter.

First 24–48 Hours: Gentle Wins the Race
The first couple of days are all about protecting the grafts and avoiding irritation. Don’t worry, Dr. Ben Mousavi and our care team will walk you through it.
1. Keep your head elevated (even while sleeping)
2. Avoid touching, scratching, or washing the scalp
3. Skip hats, helmets, and strenuous workouts
4. Follow the medication and aftercare routine we provide
We’ll schedule a follow-up to monitor progress and make sure everything is healing beautifully.

Days 3–7: Healing in Progress
During this time, tiny scabs will form around the transplanted follicles, this is completely normal and expected. The scalp might feel a bit tight or itchy.
1. Begin using the gentle washing method provided
2. Use only doctor-approved products
3. Avoid direct sun exposure
4. Delay travel and high-altitude flights if possible
Our clinic will be in touch to support you through each step and ensure your new grafts are safe and secure.
Weeks 2–4: Shedding? Don’t Panic
Yes, your transplanted hairs may begin to shed. This is part of the natural growth cycle and a sign that the follicles are entering the regrowth phase.
1. Watch for normal shedding (don’t worry, it’s temporary)
2. Avoid coloring or chemically treating hair
3. Refrain from scalp massages or vigorous styling
4. Stay in contact with our team for reassurance and support
Think of this as your scalp rebooting, it’s preparing for new, permanent growth.

Month 2 Onward: Growth Begins
By month 3, many patients start noticing new hair emerging. It’s soft, fine, and may grow unevenly at first, but it’s yours.
Here’s what you’ll notice:
-
Thicker hairlines gradually taking shape
-
Growth in density from month 4 to month 9
-
Full results typically visible by month 12
We’ll check in regularly and can recommend products or routines to support healthy growth and scalp health long-term.
